Notes from Lee at Quietly:

WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF COFFEE:
Magnolia is my love letter to espresso. It delights in those surprisingly fruity shots with bright and sparkling acidity. It always seeks out sweetness paired with stunning clarity and vibrancy. It is all the best aspects of modern espresso and works to remind me that the possibilities for a good cup are endless when we forever seek coffees that are in bloom.

ORIGIN:

The Layo Teraga Coffee Washing Station was founded in 1976 and revamped in 2000. It operates as a hub for just over 500 farms around Haro Wachu. Producer lots are small with coffee often mixed in with numerous other crops including vegetables, fruits, and a wide diversity of flora and fauna. Layo Teraga features 5 core collection centers with 3 dedicated to washed lots and 2 for naturals. This year’s lot comes from ‘Site 2’ or the  ‘Boye’ center and, like always, brings those hallmark sunshine and summery flavours we associate with the station.

FLAVOUR:
Layo Teraga is a mainstay on the Quietly menu because it is always so sparkling and refreshing. You can expect fresh lemon and lime in the cup’s aromatics and first sip. The citrus cascades along with a berry compote note that lands on the fresh bite of wild strawberry. The finish is all sunshine and summer, with a lot of peach and apricot that gives way to a clean black tea finish.
